It's a gorgeous bike, moreso in person, with a lot of artful details that are hard to see in photos. The brakes are great and reliable and the bike feels very sturdy. The bike is beautiful in person, even better than the online photos. As expected, the Schwinn quality is consistent and reliable. I ordered this locally with in-store pick up so no assembly was necessary for me, just the usual minor adjustments for seat and handlebar height and comfort. The gears shift smoothly and the brakes are tight and responsive. The bike is great fun to ride and its colors and style always get a lot of attention. If you think assembly will be a problem, consider ordering from Walmart and choosing in-store pick up (not site-to-store delivery) so that assembly is done for you. If you are looking for a seven-speed cruiser, it would be hard to find something with as many features and of comparable quality in this price range. 27 of 29 people found the following review helpful  Nice and inexpensive second bike for the city and local parks., This review is from: 26" Schwinn Fairhaven Women's 7-speed Cruiser Bike, Cream I bought this cruiser bike assembled at Walmart and am fairly pleased with the low cost ($149). Pros: Beautiful design and colors, 7 speeds with hand brakes and rear carrier. Cheap! Cons: The handlebars are loose - you really need to screw that bolt as tight as you can or the handlebars will drop down when you rest weight on it. Bike is TALL. I am 5'3" and on tip toes when sitting upright. Not for short people! Also, when purchasing your first cruiser - determine whether you can brake by reverse pedaling or need a hand break. When trying out both, I found that I could not use the pedal brakes for a quick stop or predict the distance where I would eventually stop. It's a matter of preference. Also, bike needs a frame adapter to load onto rear bike carriers. I use the Thule Frame Adapter 982XT. |
